Albert Lloyd Klingenberg was born on December 6, 1938, to Aurther Walter and Edna Mae Klingenberg in Bakersfield, California. He was Bakersfield born and bred, he fit at least three life times into the one he was given. Right out of East High School Lloyd started his adventure by enlisting in the Marine Corp where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. That was the start of his love for travel. After his Honorable Discharge in August of 1960 on September 16, 1960; he married the love and partner of his life, Margie Lea Klingenberg. Together they had 64 wonderful years filled with adventure, travel, companionship and family. He worked hard to instill strong values and morals in the seven children they were blessed with, while helping to shape his family’s hometown of Bakersfield working for the County Roads Department as a Civil Engineer. He also had a love of animals and reptiles and was a Master Falconer, he used the knowledge he had at the California Animal Living Museum where he started as docent volunteer and ended being in charge of the reptile house as well as training the birds of prey.
Lloyd had a vast amount of knowledge on a wide variety of topics. One of the ways he shared that knowledge was through the Boy Scouts and he spent years alongside his wife, Margie, as “Pack Leaders.” It was one of the ways he dedicated his life to his children’s future.
If Lloyd had another love behind his wife and seven children, it was his love of all things Magic and he spent a large amount of time over the years learning, teaching and performing.
Lloyd left his early life on November 3, 2024. He was preceded in death by his Father Aurther, his mother, Edna Mae, sister Betty Jean, Brother Arther Vern and Grandson, Blain Klingenberg. He is survived by a beautiful legacy of his Wife and life partner, Margie Lea Klingenberg, his seven children; Mike Klingenberg and Daughter in Law Gwen, Curtis Klingenberg, Carl Klingenberg and Daughter in Law Penny ,Walter Klingenberg, Betsy Klingenberg, Sandra Klingenberg, Robert Klingenberg and Daughter in Law Shea Lea. 26 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and even more extended family and lifelong friends. His wisdom and sage advice will be missed. He leaves a space that is hard to fill but we will continue to try.
