Cassielee Cross

On June 4th 2021, Cassielee Cross of Bakersfield California passed away peacefully after a sudden brief illness. She was 61.

Cassielee was born December 26, 1959; the youngest daughter to Betty and Roy Cross. She had three siblings: Margaret, Diane and Matthew Cross.

Cassie grew up in Bakersfield the majority of her life. She was a student at Mt. Vernon Elementary, Sierra Jr. High and Foothill High School where she graduated in 1978. She attended Bakersfield College, UCSB, and La Vern University earning her teaching credential in 1999.

She began her career as a kindergarten teacher for the Beardsley School District. After three years she moved up to second grade where she found her niche and taught the remainder of her career. In total, Cassie taught young minds for over 21 years. She enjoyed teaching and often said how much she loved to see the light shine in her student’s eyes.

Cassie had many interests and she loved to travel. She and her sisters had many vacation adventures; they traveled by train, plane or car. She especially liked cruise ships and the ocean. At home her kitties took top priority. She loved chocolate and Duane “The Rock” Johnson. Cassie was funny, loving, kind and always smiling.

Cassie loved her family, friends and church. Her faith was foundational to her life. She was a devoted daughter, sister, auntie and friend.

She is survived by her brother Matt (Lisa), family: Nikki, Makayla, and Jude. She is also survived by her close friends, the Fink Family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Betty Cross and sisters Margaret, Diana and nephew Steven.

In lieu of flowers please donate in her name to the local SPCA for the care of homeless animals.

Graveside services will be held Saturday June 12th 2021. Service will begin promptly at 9:00 A.M. At Hillcrest Memorial Park . 9101 Kern Canyon Rd, Bakersfield ,Ca 93306
