Lead an amazing life, affecting the lives of countless people. Eldest of 9 children, his father was away from home often for work. He was the man of the house growing up. He helped raise and even saved the lives of several of his siblings as children; everyone looked up to him. At the age of 18, with little money to go around, he left home to find his own way. Though extremely intelligent, only completed some college before venturing out to the working world to make ends meet. Excelled in his work in the oil fields with many certifications to his name. Loved the unique challenges that the oil fields encompass such as directional drilling, and fishing tools out of wells. Friends have told us that he “was a force of nature on a rig,” known for his big personality, passion, sharp mind and monstrous work ethic.
David was extremely loving and supportive of his family and close friends. Founded his own tax preparation business in Bakersfield, CA, which has been servicing clients for over 35 years. Never afraid to be honest to someone’s face, his tax clients respected his candor and have countless interesting stories to share about him.
An avid reader, he would devour entire catalogs of books by his favorite authors, spanning many genres. A world traveler, visited many exotic countries such as Nigeria and Indonesia for work, and many others for vacation. Despite his love of travel, he would often comment that "there's no place like home!” The first thing he liked to do when returning to American soil would be to go to IN-N-OUT, and after eating his fill, would feel like he ‘was finally back!’ Excellent provider, loving father, fiercely independent person. He left us much too early and is incredibly loved, more than words can express. He will be sorely missed, but will live on in our memories and hearts forever.
