Dixie passed away peacefully at home after a short illness.
She was born is Wasco, CA to Dick and Ruth Taylor of Lost Hills.
In 1942 she married Eddie Owens, the love of her life. She was preceded in death by Eddie, her daughter Penny Goodwin and grandson Eddie Goodwin.
After raising their daughters, Dixie returned to school and earned her LVN license. She retired after 25 years of service at KMC. She was a very talented oil painter and an avid gardener.
She is survived by her daughter Darla Jett-Sampson of Lake Isabella, grandchildren Darren (Debbie) Threewit, Bryan (Patty) Threewit, Brad (Shelley) Goodwin, Michael (Annette) Goodwin of Bakersfield, Richard Goodwin of Kansas City, MO and Cristy Threewit of Montana City, MT., 15 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren, a very special niece, Donna Anderson of WA., and special friend Tommie Middleton. Services will be held at Kern River Family Mortuary on January 17th @ 11am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kern County Shrine Club, 700 So. P St, 93304.
