Together we mourn the passing of Fred and Wanda Aragon, husband and wife. Freddie (Fred) Aragon was born October 28, 1945, in Bakersfield, California and passed on April 26, 2023. Wanda Aragon was born January 14, 1948 in Eugene, Oregon and passed on April 30, 2023. They were inseparable in life and so they too will share eternity together with one another. Fred graduated from East Bakersfield High in 1963 and joined the United States Marine Corps shortly after and was a Vietnam Veteran. He married his wife Wanda in 1981 and became a self-employed welder the same week, working previously for the Kern County Fire Department. His passion was European sports cars and he owned many through the years. Wanda graduated from Willamette High School in 1966 and previously worked for the Kern County Employees Federal Credit union. She loved her flowers and gardening and enjoyed the sports cars with her husband Fred.
Fred and Wanda are survived by their son Nolan Aragon and his wife Amy; son Travis Aragon and granddaughter Anthea; daughter Leah Aikey and fiancé Jeff and three grandsons Brandon, Tyler, and Jordan; daughter-in-law Nicci Brownlee and two grandsons Andrew and Brad Brownlee; pets Mitzy and Snot, and many extended family members and friends. Fred and Wanda were preceded in death by Fred’s parents Emilio and Rosa Aragon, two brothers Gilbert and John, and Wanda’s parents Archie Clark and Vivian Besanson, brother Gary and sister Ona, and son Jason Brownlee.
Our Heroes
You held our hands
When we were small
You caught us when we fell
You're the heroes of our childhood
And our later years as well
And every time we think of you
Our hearts still fill with pride
Though we always miss you Mom and Dad
We know you're by our side
In laughter and in sorrow
In sunshine and through rain
We know you're watching over us
Until we meet again.
