1932 - 2012 Glenn Albert Wells, 79 4th generationCalifornia and resident of Bakersfieldfor more than 40 years, died June 11,2012 at home after a short illness. Hewas born in Los Angeles, CA,September 22, 1932. Glenn received a degree in Geologyfrom the University of California atBerkeley in 1958 and was a member ofTheta Chi Fraternity. In Bakersfield heoperated Wells Oilfield Specialties formore than 20 years. He served in the USArmy for 2 years during the Koreanconflict. Glenn is survived by his wife of 57years, Loretta; son Russell G. Wells ofOakland; brother Michael F. Wells andwife, Yang, of Gresham, OR;daughter-in-law, Linda Wells of Eureka;cousin, Barbara Hazzard, of Clovis, andnephew and niece, Brian Wells andLara Wells of Bakersfield. He waspredeceased by a son, Stephen M.Wells; brother and sister-in-law,Gregory and Ethel Wells of Bakersfield:sister, Theresa Walls and parents,Wesley and Mildred Wells. Glenn and his wife, Loretta, wereactive with the Friends of the KernCounty Library for many years. There were no services and hisremains were cremated at his request.The family would like to thank Dr.David C. Dougherty and staff for theirkindness, as well as Hoffman Hospiceworkers for their help during the lastfew days.
