James Arthur Holmes April 28, 1946 - May 31, 2012 James was born in Phoenix, AZ to Harley Arthur Holmes and Nannie Guthrie Holmes. James passed away May 31, 2012 at home in Oildale, CA with his family at his side. James leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon Holmes, son Liberty James (Anita) Holmes, daughter Lacey Dawn (Donny) Chew. Grandkids; Devan, Darit, Destiny Chew, Brooke and Tiffany Moore, Mitchell and Sydney Holmes. 5 great grandkids; Mason, Ryder, Ady, Raylee, and Brody. Services at Kern River Mortuary, 1900 N. Chester at 11:00 am on Friday, June 8th, 2012. Cousin Candy Biagi will officiate. Special thanks to James and Betty Brown who taught dad how to pray as a child. Our dad accepted Jesus in the final weeks of his life and is shouting glory now! Potluck dinner will be held at Veterans Hall; 400 Norris Rd. Private interment will be held at later date.
