Linda K. Schmidt

Linda Kay Schmidt (nee Skaggs) was born April 29, 1945 in Auburn California to Army soldier William Skaggs and Helen Skaggs (nee Brakebill). She moved to Oklahoma shortly after and started attending church. She lived in Ardmore until 1957 when she moved with her mom and sister Delores to Bakersfield where most of her maternal family lived and attended various churches and was baptized. She married the love of her life on Aug 15, 1964 and eventually settled in at Daybreak Baptist Church. She crossed over the pearly gates into Heaven on the night of Feb 20, 2023.

She is survived my her loving husband of 58 years, Robert Schmidt; their 3 boys, Michael Schmidt and wife Jennifer, Ricky Schmidt and his wife Michele, and Stephen Schmidt; her sister Delores Barnes and husband Charlie; 3 granddaughters, Shayla Hull, Katy Mathis and husband Danny, and Natalie Schmidt; 4 great-grandchildren Mylee French, Sable Standridge, Mayson Mathis, Spencer Mathis and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mom Helen Skaggs, her dad William Skaggs, her 2 brothers Larry Skaggs and Charles Skaggs and numerous cousins

Viewing for Linda will be Tuesday February 28 at Kern River Family Mortuary Chapel From 6pm to 8pm 1900 N. Chester Ave. Bakersfield ,Ca 93308. Burial to Follow Wednesday March 1 at Greenlawn Memorial Park 1:10 pm 3700 River Blvd Bakersfield ,Ca 93305.
