Marian Jones

Marian Pearl Jones, 81, passed away peacefully in the home of her granddaughter, Brandie Smith, on January 12, 2015. Marian was surrounded by loved ones until the end. She will be greatly missed by those she left behind.
Marian was born in Bakersfield, California where she continued to spend most of her years. Marian has always had a love for traveling, social gatherings, and slot machines. In Marian's earlier days, she enjoyed working in the district attorney's office and sheriff's office, dancing, playing the organ, knitting, quilting, painting, and other crafts.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Jones, brother Kenneth Fry, daughter Karen Love, sons Derek Daniels and Kenny Russell, grandchildren Brandie, Heather, Christopher, Matthew, Kalli, and Amanda; four great-grandchildren, and her cat Molly.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Viewing will be at Kern River Family Mortuary at 10:00 am. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am, same facility. A committal service will take place at the Bakersfield National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
