Norma Joyce Carpenter, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother lived her whole life in Bakersfield. She lived for her family and friends, raising 4 scouts, spending time at Pismo, throwing pool BBQs, loud Superbowl parties, Bunco, and lunches with the girls. Norma always wanted her home filled with love and laughter. With husband Jake of 30 years, she enjoyed dinners out, traveling, and going to their childrens' and grandchildrens' events- she loved them dearly.
Survived by her husband Jake Carpenter, sons- Jeff and wife Cindy, Jerry and wife Chrissie, Joe and wife Johanna, and Gene and wife Tracy, stepchildren- Bruce and wife Ellen, Bryan and wife Iola, Cindy and husband Zach, blessed with 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, her sister and best friend Peggy Barksdale and brother-in-law Wayne, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceeded in death by her parents Glen and Margaret Coleman, and the father of her 4 sons, Elvin D. Hill.
A Rosary is scheduled for 6:00pm October 6, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church – 1800 Bedford Way Bakersfield, California.
Mass of Christian Burial, is scheduled for 10:00am October 7, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church – 1800 Bedford Way Bakersfield, California.
Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
