Born to Oscar Thomas and Lucille Love Van De Venter,and preceded in death by his parents and sister Sylvia Soto.
Tom grew up and attended school in Bakersfield, CA eventually owning a couple of businesses, including Chester Ave. Paint and Body.
He earned his teaching credentials and went on to share his passion in Auto Body Repair at East High, and Bakersfield Adult School both in Bakersfield.
He was a "car guy" first, who also loved music, art, singing, playing guitar, reading, fishing, water-skiing, and sky diving.A thrill seeker who loved to travel, and lived life to the fullest.
Tom's Love of God, family, friends, and life in general were unbelievable."Tommy" as he was known by his friends, left deep impressions on many, and will never be forgotten by anyone who knew him.
Tom leaves behind sons. Aaron, and Brian Van De Venter;and grandsons, Aidan, and Christopher.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013. At 2400 Pacific Ave in Bakersfield @ 3:00 p.m.
