Rose Marie Bauer

Rose passed peacefully into eternal life with her daughter & hospice nurse by her side as a result of congestive heart failure. She was born in Moose Lake, MN to Joseph and Mary Zasoski, the 2nd youngest of 9 children. Rose and her husband, Phil and children moved to Bakersfield from Seattle, WA in 1954. She was a loving mom & homemaker while her children were young and later took a job at Brocks Department Store in the yardage department, where she worked for 24 years.
She was the last surviving member of her family. She was also preceded in death by her husband Phil in 1987 and her son Darrel in 2001. Rose is survived by daughter & son-in-law Janice & George Avila Sr., granddaughter Deborah Bauer, great granddaughter Dallas Alves, daughter in-law Nancy Bauer & sister in-law Marian Zasoski. She also leaves many nieces & nephews with loving memories of Aunt Rosie.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday March 19, 2014 - 10:00AM at Christ the King Catholic Church 1800 Bedford Way in Oildale, with a reception following in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Boys Town or Optimal Hospice.
