Selena L. Lark - Younger

d. August 18, 2024

Bakersfield

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Selena Lark-Younger, peacefully passed away on the afternoon of August 18, 2024, after a lengthy illness. She was 79 years old. Although much of her life was spent in the New York Tri-State Area, she spent her final years in Bakersfield, CA.

Selena is survived by her three children: Craig Lark of Bakersfield, CA (wife Lizet, son Ian, and daughter Rhyan), Renee Lark of Brooklyn, NY (sons Keith and Zachary, and daughter Zaleeyah), and Anthony Younger of Rishon LeZion (wife Shani, son Roy, and daughter Lennie). She is also cherished by her eight great-grandchildren. Additionally, Selena is survived by her three brothers, Tony, Skylar, and Terry, and three sisters, Jackie, Mickie, and Denise. Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members will deeply miss her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Younger Sr, and her parents, Henry and Elvida Lark.

Selena had a remarkable ability to light up any room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on those around her. Known for her joyful presence, vibrant clothes, beautiful hair, and creative fashion sense, she was a true embodiment of warmth and energy. A perfectionist to a fault and a voracious reader, she constantly sought to expand her mind and the minds of her children. Despite the sorrow of her passing, we find comfort in knowing she is free from suffering.

Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 12300 Reina Rd. Bakersfield CA 93312 September 19, 2024. Rosary 1:00 - 1:30pm Funeral Mass 1:30 - 2:30pm.
