Shelia Marie Fuller passed away on July 4, 2024, at the age of 64. She was born on December 27, 1958, in Bakersfield to William and Ruby (Owens) Rader. She was the oldest of 4 children and took her role as such seriously. Shelia is a 1977 graduate of North High School and a graduate of Bakersfield Community College. While at BC she began working as a student employee and eventually became an Assessment Assistant in the Testing Center. She recently celebrated her 20th year of employment at Bakersfield College and had enjoyed every day of it.
Shelia is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Robert Fuller, her daughter Karie Ramirez (Norvin), son Shane Davis (Niki), and son Tyler Fuller as well as 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Her memory will be treasured by her parents Ruby Stengel and William Rader and numerous other family members. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Thomas.
Shelia was a strong believer in living her life to its fullest and in never missing out on time with family and friends. Her husband, Robert, could often be found waiting in the car while she lingered over goodbyes with her loved ones. And while she could be stubborn about things like her love for the Cowboys and the correct way to make potato salad, that stubbornness served her well in making sure those around her were taken care of.
In a very fitting way for all who knew her, Shelia’s final days were filled with the laughter and reminiscing of her family and friends. Her constant desire to show her love for those in her life was felt even then.
A memorial service will be held on July 26, 2024, at 11 am at Valley Baptist Church, 5500 Olive Dr, Bakersfield, CA 93308 with Pastor Ty Barksdale officiating. Reception will immediately follow.
